Changes have been made to immigration instructions to restrict the ability of Accredited Employer work visa holders in ANZSCO skill level 4 and 5 roles to support visas for their partners and dependent children, except where the work visa holder has a realistic pathway to residence such as through the Green List, a Sector Agreement pathway, or by earning at least 1.5 times the Skilled Migrant Category median wage.
These changes apply to new Accredited Employer work visa applicants including migrants already in New Zealand. However, people who hold or have an application in progress for a visa as the partner or dependent child of affected Accredited Employer work visa holders will not be impacted provided the visa is approved.
